The Island of Elba is achieved by embarking from the port of Piombino (LI).
In about one hour ferry arrives at Portoferraio, the capital of the island, from which you can reach by bus or taxi to various locations of the Elbe.

During periods of increased tourism, every half hour you can find a ferry departing. However booking is advisable especially at weekends.

The To.Re.Mar. also carries some direct runs to the nearest Rio Marina, lasting about 45 minutes by ferry. Only for those passengers without your car also offers a fast hydrofoil service that connects Piombino Portoferraio in just 40 minutes.
- Car:
North : From Milan (A1 highway) take the A15 at Parma Ovest to join the A12 Genova-Livorno, exit at Rosignano.
Continue on S.S. Aurelia to Elba / Isola d'Elba and from here to Piombino Marittima.
Northeast : Highway A1 Bologna-Florence-Pisa-Livorno exit at Rosignano, continue on SS Aurelia to Elba / Isola d'Elba and from here continue to Piombino Marittima.
Alternatively, the S.G.C. FI-PI-LI (Firenze-Pisa-Livorno): exit at Firenze Signa, follow the SS to Collesalvetti, re Motorway to Rosignano Marittima, take the highway up to Elba / Isola d'Elba and from here continue to Piombino Marittima.
South : Take the A12 Roma-Grosseto: SS Aurelia exit-Elba Island of Elba, continue to Piombino Marittima.
- Plane:
